Rafa going back to Liverpool?? Agree totally oohah more than welcome to him, I just don’t get him for the reasons I posted earlier. Saying that I can’t see Liverpool even looking at him, they’ll be after bigger fish from abroad. Kenny Dalglish and Alex... Full Article at Aston Villa Views

In a strange way, Bent feels McLeish's sacking may have come as something of a relief to the former Birmingham manager. Relief: Bent believes Alex McLeish will not be too unhappy at his dismissal 'The manager wouldn't admit it, I'm sure, but maybe it's... Full Article at Daily Mail - UK

Arguably, the most divided city in the United Kingdom to boot. Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United) and Kenny Dalglish (Liverpool) are the two obvious ones. David Moyes at Everton possibly slightly less so. Alex McLeish (Birmingham City) was,... Full Article at My Football Writer

We had gone to Cameron House on Loch Lomond to prepare that week and after Alex McLeish told me, I was just numb for the next 48 hours. He explained he wanted to go with Ian Murray because he thought he was better defensively, and he was, but I still think he was wrong. But I had to accept his decision....
As soon as it emerged that Alex McLeish was set for the sack at Aston Villa, tongues were wagging and you can see why. Lambert would be the perfect choice for the Midlands club and would do a fantastic job – no arguments about that. Would Lambert want... Full Article at My Football Writer

He is one of the top keepers in the history of the Premier League
In the spirit of fun – and in pursuit of a unique hat-trick which would, at least, represent some kind of footballing achievement for the Birmingham area – would it be too much to ask Roy Hodgson to consider stepping aside just for one year to let Alex McLeish manage WBA next season?
Dunne is a leader and it was a calculated gamble to play him
I came in to the side out of the blue once really when Alex McLeish was injured. I got rave reviews and then as soon as McLeish was fit he was back in the line-up. Then I was in the side when Willie Miller was suspended for a trip to Parkhead and we beat Celtic 2-0, but the next game I was out again.
I have had to show my experience and leadership and that has come to the fore. I will not curl up and die. I will persevere to the end as I always have done.

Well, they were relegation-threatened last year with a stronger squad
It’s ridiculous, utter chaos. I have no idea how badly other clubs are affected but I would imagine Tottenham will have a few, like Gareth Bale. Aston Villa have a lot of younger players as well - that is all Alex McLeish needs.
I couldn't even begin to think about next season until we get this season over.
I haven't got a say in it but, if the players don't want to go, there is nothing they can do about it ... I have no jurisdiction over De Gea but at this stage of his career I don't think it's a bad thing for him anyway. I've no idea how badly other clubs are affected but I would imagine Tottenham with G...
These decisions are not for now
Gerard Houllier and Alex McLeish have not been given anything like the same money to spend and they have found it tough
It's part of football and it's not something you can change. You have to accept it. If you don't want to hear that, don't be in this game.
Nothing will happen before the end of the season but Alex McLeish’s position is being scrutinised by those at the top of the club
In terms of the abuse, there was nobody more disappointed after the Bolton game than me
Alex McLeish, he's taking you down
It's possible but we don't believe it will happen.
We are concentrating on the last three games before anybody makes any statements about futures. That includes me.

It depends on Gabby, but Emile would come right into the thinking
It depends on Gabby, but Emile would come right into the thinking for tonight. He's admired by all his team-mates... It's the same scenario with someone like Carlos. The thing about guys like that is that they have total commitment to any particular task that they have to undertake.
With a guy like Dunnie, and with what the modern day physical trainers and medical people do, the aim is to try and get the player up to speed so he can go straight back into the side
It's good news regarding Richard. He has rejoined the group for training today. If he doesn't make the game at West Brom this weekend, he should be ready for the Tottenham match.
