It was important to play a few matches on clay, I had some good tennis from time to time
You can never say 'never' but his eight in a row is a record that certainly be hard to break
He played very, very well today
There are a lot of things I would have liked to have done better, it takes a lot of time for me to do it (well) on this surface
It’s frustrating when you’re losing a match and the guy is making it difficult for you to create chances
He was taking the ball very early and making me do a lot of running
It was a tough match, a lot of long games, quite a few long rallies
A lot of the guys work the points quite a lot, play with more topspin and stuff. He has so much power, he's able to go through the court, hit pretty flat.
It looked like quite a bad one, also his wrist, he fell quite heavily onto
He plays a different style of tennis on the clay ... He has so much power, he's able to go through the court, hit pretty flat.
When he went down, he was making quite a lot of noise ... You see people turn their ankle, they make a lot of noise because the shock of it is quite scary.
They're turning it into a car park in about a week
I was sliding pretty well
He only arrived this morning so he's getting no credit
It's sometimes taken me two or three weeks at tournaments before I started feeling good
Each year I’ve felt more comfortable. It’s just a surface, out of all the surfaces for me anyway the guys that have the most experience on the surface tend to do well here
He has been great on every surface. But, for clay, he’ll help me in the next five, six weeks. It’s probably not going to show this week necessarily. But the time I spend with him, the five or six days before Barcelona, the four five days before the French Open, these will be very, very beneficial.
I told him he’s getting no credit for this one
It was good. I moved well
The sooner I can get on this surface for me the better
He only arrived this morning so he's getting no credit for today
It was very good, getting off to a good start in the match
It was a good start ... Normally it takes me a few matches to get used to the clay. Today I thought I moved pretty well which something that is really important to me. I used a lot of variety in my game which is important.
Normally when I come here I usually find I need a few matches to get adjusted
I did it myself. I just decided I wanted to cut my hair. It was my fitness trainer's razor so I wasn't sure how short it was going to be.
