Finian McGrath and China: Madam -- The call by Independent TD Finian McGrath (Sunday Independent, April 22, 2012) for Justice Minister Alan Shatter to review the case of Paul Begley, the Dublin businessman sentenced to six years' imprisonment for evading tax on garlic imports from China, was for me put into perspective when viewed alongside the sentences imposed recently on two Limerick brothers in the Special Criminal Court who were convicted of threatening to kill three members of one family (Irish Independent, April 18, 2012).
