The only way everyone will be able to move on is for the case to be solved, and that is for Madeleine to be found and the perpetrators brought to justice. Then everyone can move on.
I'm more confident now than at any point in the past four-and-a-half years that we will find Madeleine, and find who is responsible.
I think particularly the cases when they're younger children, it's often not horrendous circumstances
We've always believed that and we're realistic; we don't know what's happened, but we know there's a very good chance that she could be alive ... There's no evidence to the contrary [and] ... year after year, missing children that have been abducted are found alive.
It's very matter of fact for them, because I suppose they've grown up with Madeleine missing. It's part of their life.
We're probably more hopeful now than at any point in the last five years
I think our best chance of finding Madeleine and the person who has committed the crime is by the case being reopened
I think we are more hopeful now of finding Madeleine than we have been at any point since the early days after she was taken, really. That has largely changed with the review and the investigative review that has been undertaken by the Metropolitan Police
I think the most important thing is challenging the assumption that Madeleine is a three or four year old ... She’s nearly nine now. People around us certainly see Madeleine in it, and see elements of us in it, and I think that’s a good thing. It’s certainly a useful tool, and we’re pleased with the ima...
I have no doubt about that. It will get reopened ... I think the most important thing is that a lot of the investigation opportunities are in Portugal. I think it’s fairly clear that the case will have to be reopened for those to be pursued adequately. We weren’t expecting a knee-jerk reaction by any me...
The only way everyone will be able to move on is for the case to be solved… Until then, it’s not going to go away. It can’t go away.
I think the most important thing is that a lot of the investigation opportunities are in Portugal. I think it’s fairly clear that the case will have to be reopened for those to be pursued adequately
If people want to find Madeleine, and want to find the person who took her, then we need the case to be reopened
Someone knows what happened and we appeal to them to tell us. It's not too late. If it's your brother, your son, your colleague, please let us know.
None of us expected a sudden decision to reopen - things don't happen like that - but we believe the Portuguese authorities will be convinced of the need to reinvestigate. It's the only way Madeleine's abductor will be brought to justice
For so long we felt we were searching for Madeleine on our own, but that's not the case now. We are more hopeful than we have been since the early days.
We believe there is new information, but there is also a need to identify links between some of the old information. The investigation needs to be reopened.
In previous years we have felt like we have been on our own to a large extent and now we have got (a) tremendous resource, doing a great job.
Sean said to me, and this is going back about 18 months now, he said 'Shall I come and work for you and find Madeleine when we get older?' He meant 'me and Amelie will look for Madeleine'.
We are realistic. We don't know what has happened but we know there is a very good chance that she could be alive - there is no evidence to the contrary ... We know year after year, missing children, children that have been abducted, are found alive.
It's taken pressure off us I have to say, knowing the police are actually reviewing everything. It's a huge step for us
It's a cause and a charity very close to our hearts. We've been able to meet people who are in similar situations. Although each experience is unique, we are all going through that fight and pain of not having a loved one with us.
We're 10 months into the Met's review process and it's important for us. It's taken pressure off us, knowing the police are actually reviewing everything. It's a huge step for us.
