The Kings rebounded from Sunday’s 2-0 loss to the Coyotes, in what could have been a series-clinching game, by getting their other goals from Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty and Mike Richards. Kopitar had a sensational game, especially on the penalty kill,... Full Article at Globe and Mail
He can't deflect shots if the puck never gets near him. During his career, Holmstrom worked his way up from being a fourth liner and power play specialist to playing on a top line with Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. This past season, he was back... Full Article at Detroit Free Press

It’s a very correct choice ... He has been captain throughout his career.
Of the dozen players affiliated with the Detroit Red Wings who played in the World Championships, none were better than forward Henrik Zetterberg. Zetterberg led all Red Wings in scoring with 15 points for Sweden and was named to the All-Star team in a... Full Article at MLive.com
"This was a big step for him," Wings assistant general manager Jim Nill said. "He's got a pretty big upside." Like all young players, Jarnkrok, listed as 5-feet-11 and 165 pounds, needs to get stronger. But he has a way of playing that reminds the... Full Article at Detroit Free Press

Of course, Nashville's Shea Weber is a complete rockhead for trying to turn Henrik Zetterberg into a bobblehead at the end of Game 1. The NHL's failure to suspend Weber is gutless, although not that surprising. Apparently, the league's crackdown on head shots is moot if the head isn't cracked quite hard...
The Wings have had a great deal of success the past decade, not the least reason being two incredibly hardworking stars up front in Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. The Wings do want to add a top-six forward this summer, someone to give them more... Full Article at Detroit Free Press
Filppula and Finland for the second time in five days. Howard made 25 saves and Justin Abdelkader had an assist Tuesday to lead the U.S. past Switzerland, 5-2, at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, in the last day of preliminary action. Team Canada,... Full Article at Detroit Free Press
Former Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau made him a healthy scratch for one game earlier this season. If Semin lacked motivation to play on a team with stars Alexander Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, would the situation be any different with Detroit's... Full Article at MLive.com

It is bittersweet ... You would rather have had a practice here and focus on round two (of the playoffs). But we're not and so when an opportunity came to go over and play for your country, it's an honor and I'm looking forward to it.
It's ridiculous that all Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber gets for his cowardly attack against a defenceless Henrik Zetterberg ... is a $2,500 fine and no suspension. The NHL is guilty, once again, of possessing no spine.
It's going to be fun ... It's not often a chance like this comes around. The way everything ended here, I want to keep playing hockey and have a nice ending to the season.
Like we've been doing the last two three years, we're trying ... I think everyone is, but once again, it will come down to a decision with his family.
I have a gut feeling, and I'll keep that to myself ... I had a gut feeling, too, last year, and it turned out to be right. So we'll see in a month or so.
I don't know if we're small and slow ... Maybe we're not physical enough. I think we have enough physical guys in here. Maybe we don't have enough fighters in here, but I don't know if you need that.
I think it can be fixed (this summer) ... We have a good team. If we do the right changes ... we'll be right back next year.
In the end, we hope it'll be a nice decision ... He'll do what he needs to do. It's a big commitment to make, if he's mentally prepared to come back. Everyone hopes he's going to make that commitment.
I think it can be fixed [in one summer]
I still believe we had a good enough team to do damage this year ... It's always tough to make big changes, but that's something we have to do. You need to make changes. You add people and you lose people. Some of them are tougher than others. We haven't been good enough in here lately and I think every...
Yeah, it is a big deal ... I played one World Championship back home in ’01. It’s a lot of fun, but that was 11 years ago. Then six years ago we went over and won the (Olympic) gold, so when you get the opportunity, and we don’t get them a lot, it is an honor. You’d rather be playing here, for sure, but...
I've got a gut feeling, but I'm going to keep that (to) myself
We needed to score more goals
Hopefully, we'll see them back next year
that's why you play hockey. You play those 82 games, and you look forward to this. And it's barely been two weeks, and it's over. It's tough. It's frustrating for everyone. It wasn't anything we expected.
Well played, good luck, see you next year
it's part of the game. You get a lot of emotions. What happened, happened. I think Bert took care of it in Game 2 and then you just move on.
If we could have scored 2-3 goals a game, we probably would have won the series ... Maybe we didn't do enough changes in the way we played. I think when you start losing you try to make changes, but maybe we didn't do enough with them or find a way to get quality chances. A team like this, when they get...
Everyone in here believed we had a good team, that we could do something this year and we didn't ... It is tough, it's frustrating for everyone, definitely wasn't anything we expected.
We need to believe we can turn this around, and it all starts with winning one game ... We know we can do it. We know we've been playing well. We're a good team. We just have to keep playing like we did last game and eventually we're going to score.
You can't let it get to you ... We're going to go in and just play a good game tomorrow and go out there and (force a Game 6).
We (had) bad one game and that game we won, that was Game 2 ... We've got a lot of believe in here. We're a good team. We just have to keep playing like we did last game and eventually we're going to score. You can't let it get to you. We're going to go in and just play a good game and go out there and ...
We rally around that a little bit ... We did it recently. We know we can do it. We know we've been playing well.
