July 5, 2005, the mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, took up his pen to make official his city’s agreement with the International Olympic Committee. The 2012 Olympics had not yet been awarded to London—it would be, the following day—but the I.O.C.... Full Article at Newsjiffy Blog

The polls aren't reflected on the streets
The only Tory big winner was London Mayor Boris Johnson, who managed to squeak back into power on his personal popularity, despite a strong challenge from his predecessor, Labour’s “Red” Ken Livingstone. For bucking the leftwing tide, Johnson has been... Full Article at London Free Press
I asked her through multiple channels how she got my phone number but got no specific reply. Whilst ‘convenient’ emails are bad enough, abusing member’s data is against the law. This really has to stop. The email is a tad irrelevant but the point is... Full Article at Labour List

I backed Ken Livingstone, I think he was the best mayor London’s had so far. I think he would be a better mayor for London on Tube fares and jobs and housing than Boris Johnson who, let’s be honest, is a bit of a joker, a bit of a buffoon.
For all our differences, I agree. If you earn the same amount as a shareholder collecting a dividend or as a plumber fixing someone's central heating you should pay the same amount in tax. And apart from the personal allowance, so you can earn enough... Full Article at Guardian Unlimited
Politicians shouldn’t be abusing the historical accident that produced the three taxes to make it harder for voters to come to an informed democratic decision about the level of taxation. Where I suspect that Ken Livingstone and I might part ways is... Full Article at ConservativeHome

At a time when people are being squeezed by higher fares, rents and heating bills, Londoners need a mayor who is in touch and understand the pressures that they face every day
She has picked up not only some dissident Labour votes but maybe some Tories as well. There is a fair chance she has taken away what would have been Ken Livingstone votes. Maybe only two or three per cent but that is still quite significant.
The polls are narrowing, but sadly I think not enough.
Ken Livingstone has told 85 different lies during his election campaign.
Today, Londoners can vote Labour to cut their fares and save themselves on average £1,000, and in doing so ensure that the Conservative Party is not rewarded. Every Labour voter must turn out today or the Tories will get away with it - they will carry on with policies that have led to recession, fare ri...
Shows Boris Johnson defeating Ken Livingstone in the run-off vote for Mayor by 53-47% - the same margin by which he won four years ago.

To be honest, for quite a long time there has been a general view Boris was going to win. It’s pretty obvious from private conversations and what’s been said in public there’s a large chunk of traditional Labour voters who can’t bring themselves to vote for Ken Livingstone.
Please, let’s move on from the ‘Ken and Jews’ dramas
My Labour loyalty will probably win over anything else and I will probably still vote for Ken Livingstone. I have a long-standing loyalty to Ken Livingstone
The Tory PM wants you to vote for the Tory mayor so they can keep going with Tory policies that mean recession, fare rises and police cuts.

When you actually look at the impact that the financial system has on the poorest societies… the infant mortality rate is absolutely shocking. Those are not my figures. They’re UNESCO’s figures, actually.
The Labour Party has indulged Ken Livingstone for too long.

People must not be misled. They should not let Boris Johnson get away with it. They have a choice between a Tory mayor with a track record of standing up for the privileged few or a Labour mayor in Ken Livingstone with a proven track record of making lives better for working people in London.
Whatever you do, however many you kill, you will fail
The London contest appears to show there is a Ken Livingstone factor and not a Labour factor at play. When the fight is on policy we win. When it is on personality it is tough.
I'm quite happy to have them running around London
We have abandoned the grandiose and wasteful approach of the previous mayor. The choice is clear this Thursday. It is between a Mayor who invests in our future — and irresponsible proposals from Ken Livingstone that would put that investment at risk.
Boris is a very formidable campaigner
These are very serious allegations which, if true, could affect next week’s London mayoral election. It’s right that the Electoral Commission has referred this matter to Scotland Yard. The allegations concern a group of supposedly independent activists backing the Livingstone campaign. So Ken Livingston...
Boris Johnson was too cosy with Rupert Murdoch's empire at a time when they were the subject of a police investigation and he used his office to undermine the Met's work, attacking the phone hacking claims as 'codswallop'.
