It is a fantastic day out for everyone and is great reward for the efforts and commitment of the players and the respect we have paid to the competition ... We think we deserve to be there and we are happy to be there.
A lot of people are hanging on to the Liverpool thing as well and bringing that up. If you look at his record and compare it to Kenny Dalglish it is pretty similar. It didn't go too well for Roy but I don't think you can keep hanging on to that. I can only go from what I have seen this season
There is an obsession with the Premier League simply because of what it holds for every club and the value financially for every club - the rewards you get for finishing in the top four and getting in the Champions League ... But there is a satisfaction from winning a cup competition which you don't get...
The fixture list means they could even win the FA Cup and still finish the season on a downer.I never thought they could finish fourth this season. But they should be doing a lot better in the league. Kenny Dalglish could win two cups and still be under pressure this summer
There is an obsession with the Premier League
Apart from the fact that he was the person that signed me, I appreciate the fact that I've always felt that I've had 100 per cent backing from Kenny Dalglish. This is very important for any footballer. He understands me as a player and as a person. He knows what I can do and that I will always give ever...
With the game coming up on Saturday, the attitude and performance were very poor
If someone with the football pedigree of Kenny Dalglish told me that someone was a fantastic player, I think I would be inclined to agree with him.
Our performance was very poor
I hadn't realised its history when I asked for the seven ... I was asked what number and I chose it. But now I'm quite happy that I did, now I know about players like Kenny Dalglish and Kevin Keegan. I have seen some videos of Dalglish scoring for Liverpool. He was a great player.
I don't think it can be described as a performance. I'll take part of the blame I suppose because I thought it was fair on everybody to give them some minutes on the pitch, again coming up to Saturday which is important to the club
Liverpool are facing a fight to keep wonderkid Raheem Sterling as Kenny Dalglish continues to ignore calls for the teenager to be handed a first-team role
They had the chance to press their claim but the performance was very poor. That's not like us. For us there was one or two positives but there were a lot more negatives
It happens a lot when a team changes the manager. You saw it at Liverpool when Roy Hodgson left and Kenny Dalglish came in.
I am culpable as well as I changed a lot of players to try to give everyone an opportunity to get in the frame for Saturday
We all know he's in the upper echelons when it comes to Liverpool players, with most having him either first or second behind Kenny Dalglish, but when you look at a list of the greats to play in English football I'd say he is second only to Bobby Charlton in terms of the best midfielders there have ever...
I don’t think that can be described as a performance ... I thought it would be fair to give them an opportunity to get some minutes on the pitch with an important game on Saturday, but the performance and the attitude was very poor and that’s not like us.
Both [manager] Kenny Dalglish and [director of football] Damien Comolli have watched every single game and after each one we speak about how the players have done and what we can put in place to get them to the next level.
The attitude and desire wasn’t there ... It wasn’t a good night for us, me included.
There’s plenty of quality in the squad and that’s been shown by the way they’ve dominated games but they clearly need more luck in front of goal. They’ve got the right manager in Kenny Dalglish. He knows the game inside out, he knows how to handle players and he knows Liverpool and the fans.
It’s going to be a difficult selection as it always is ... but it’s a difficult selection for tomorrow night as well. Everybody will be treated fairly and equally and everybody will be allowed to put their CV in for selection on Saturday.
I think there is a possibility of something happening on that, but I’m very wary of going on record about another club’s footballer because Kenny Dalglish is keeping his squad intact and protecting his football club
I’m sure Danny and John Arne will get as good a reception as they are entitled to ... They get a good reception, then our fans support us, so that’s perfect for us and it doesn’t undermine any of the players we have on the pitch at any given time.
