The party's leader is Nick Clegg. Full Article At Wikipedia.org

There were no deals. We had no discussions with the Liberal Democrats ... Our policy locally and nationally is to put up candidates wherever we can.
Green and Lib Dems lost deposits
It’s been a disappointing and difficult night for the Liberal Democrats. I’m really sad.
The people of Liverpool have spoken democratically ... They have rejected the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. They have given their trust to the Labour party.
I believe that, over time, people will come to acknowledge our unique role, the Liberal Democrats, in this Government as the only party that combines responsibility on the economy with social fairness.
No 10 needs to listen more often to the Conservative backbenchers and the Conservative Party grassroots and less often to the Coalition junior and minority partner, the Liberal Democrats.
I’m absolutely delighted with the result. Myself and Jane Brophy have bucked the trend. The Lib Dems have been walloped across Greater Manchester and nationally. I’m extremely grateful to the electorate who continue to recognise the work I have done in the past 35 years as their councillor.
We are absolutely delighted. People on the doorsteps were rejecting both the Tories and Lib Dems. People were grabbing the leaflets out of my hands.
Because the Lib Dems have always been against the mayoral system, there has never been a true coalition policy for it and it just seems to be one of David Cameron's little hobby horses.
They have rejected the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats within this city and have given me their trust and the Labour Party their trust.
Of course the Conservatives can't do everything that we would like to do in government because we are in coalition within the Liberal Democrats
It's been a good night for Labour ... We've taken seats off Plaid Cymru and wev'e taken seats of the Liberal Democrats.
If you look at last year's result in Darley you can see the Lib Dems vote has been collapsing. I'm elated to be elected and the hard work starts now.
Obviously it is disappointing to no longer be in a joint administration but for the Liberal Democrats generally it has been a reasonably good night.
As the results were coming in it was becoming clear the Lib Dems had lost quite a few seats. There were quite a lot of police in the room and at least two interjected and separated everyone.
Lib Dems [are] holding us back
The big story seems to be a disaster for the Tories who are losing twice as many seats as Lib Dems
I have joined Labour because they have a strong local team who are standing up against the damage being done by the Tories and Liberal Democrats both nationally and locally. I will continue to fight for what I have always believed in, and for people in my Abbey ward, but I want to be part of a bigger pa...
This is now effectively a hung council - 21, 19, 1, 1. The important thing for the Lib Dems now is to listen to people. They only got a quarter of the vote in the city, so they don’t have a mandate. Our biggest result was in Queen Edith’s, where we took what had been a totally secure Lib Dem seat.
I have some sort of encouragement for the Lib Dems. I'm not saying it's easy for us - it's tough being in government in midterm, making difficult decisions to get the country on its feet again. But where we have the longest track record, where we have been running councils or a dominant force on council...
It's a shame that Jordan has decided to leave the Liberal Democrats. Unfortunately, his decision this close to the local elections seems to be more about headlines rather than principles. His name will still appear on the ballot paper as Liberal Democrat, although he will be excluded from the party with...
We have a proven track record of providing the goods while we were running the council with the Lib Dems, such as turning the Orford Park project from a dream into reality as well as reducing the council tax rise year on year from 2006 finishing with a zero rise in 2011.
The Lib Dems have got to get down to the grassroots and move away from the things they have done in coalition
The Lib Dems have lost trust nationally ... The national politics pull us down locally. At the next election, we will become our own party again.
