But he wants to do the right thing for the fans on Long Island. Let’s be clear: He bought the Islanders to have them on Long Island. But he’s not getting a lot of help or cooperation
Regardless, he's ahead of Hudler in the pecking order. The Red Wings won't fret if Hudler leaves. They could use the money to pursue somebody like Semin, Jones, PA Parenteau of the New York Islanders or Ryan Smyth, if he doesn't return to Edmonton. ... Full Article at MLive.com
Unfortunately for Al, this may have been a shot in the foot to a contract re-signing. He had become a fan favorite two seasons ago when no one else had given him a chance and he found his way onto the Islanders. In short, the Islanders seem to be... Full Article at Bleacher Report

I am pleased that Staten Islanders will now be able to access Wi-Fi service along our South Beach Boardwalk and beach area thanks to AT&T, and I commend Mayor Bloomberg and former (NYC Information Technology and Telecommunications) Commissioner Carole Post for their leadership on this initiative through...
The Flyers were the team that grabbed Kessel and signed him to an entry-level contract beginning for the 2011-12 season. “He makes plays and sees the ice good,” said Chris Pryor, the club’s Director of Hockey Operations. “Guys that can see the ice and... Or you could vote against him, if you're worried about the "Madden" jinx carrying over to hockey. Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers and Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins already are in the semifinals. Goalies Henrik Lundqvist of the New... Full Article at Detroit Free Press
(I took some time off from actually typing and did a little more READING because I’m having an issue with my digits.) While everyone agrees the clock is ticking, there really is no clear cut timeline for an NHL hockey team rebuild. The NY Islanders... Full Article at Hockey Buzz

I thought when I got to the Islanders that I'd have a little more responsibility than I did ... But it didn't work out that way. Then all of a sudden it didn't look like I had anything. So to get this new opportunity has been great. I feel like I've taken advantage of the opportunity, and I feel great. ...
Yeah. I think so. We are going to test it a little bit in the fall on October 2nd when the Islanders play the Devils. We are very excited about it. In the first two weeks of tickets going on sale we sold over 6,000 seats, so there is a built in fan base in Brooklyn and we can accommodate hockey, NHL qua...
We'll see how it goes in practice the next couple of days and make a decision before the game (Friday against the New York Islanders) ... Colin Greening is a big body, a good defensive conscience on that line and Condra also brings that. We're looking to find a way to get some offense. We're going to ju...
I think so ... Obviously, we're going to test it a little bit in the fall on Oct. 2 when the Islanders play the Devils [in a preseason game], and we're very excited about it. Within the first two weeks of tickets going on sale, we sold over 6,000 seats, so there is a built-in fan base in Brooklyn and we...
NHL Boss on Coliseum: Isles looking at other options.
The Islanders have a great organization ... And playing in a city like New York would be pretty cool.
The New York Islanders say assistant coaches Scott Allen and Dean Chynoweth won't return to coach Jack Capuano's staff next season.
We were a young hockey club, and that was the first or second year of Eddie Johnston as coach. We were an offensive team and we were really the underdog to go in against the Islanders and that dynasty of a hockey club they had
P.A. has made it clear he wants to remain with the Islanders. He has assumed a leadership role with the club. He's proven to be a great fit on one of the top scoring lines in the league and has great affinity for the organization that gave him the opportunity to play regularly in the NHL
Now that the New York Islanders season is over, we are looking forward to start negotiations with the club
I am confident that if we come together, we will find a path forward that leads not to empty parking lots, but rather to a vibrant center of economic activity with Islanders banners hanging from every post and the Stanley Cup on display at its heart
Leaving Long Island is a five-minute story. Coming to a place like Canada is far bigger. And remember, this is the league that shut down a season. What do they really care about Islanders fans?
the Knicks have Linsanity, the Jets have Tebowmania, the Yankees, Mets, hell the Islanders or Rangers but one of these teams need to complete the NY Holy Trinity of athletes.
I look forward to returning to Notre Dame next season to work towards my degree while pursuing a championship on the ice with my teammates. I plan to continue to develop all aspects of my game and hope to someday pursue a career in the National Hockey League with the New York Islanders.
I moved to Brooklyn 13 years ago, and fell in love with the place. So now, I love everything Brooklyn ... They’re actually talking about the New York Islanders playing there, and if that happens I will become a hockey fan. Having anything associated with Brooklyn, I’m down with it.
We're not immune to the rising cost of doing business on Long Island ... But we remain committed to our mission of providing an affordable venue for Long Islanders to be able to come to and enjoy themselves with family and friends.
New York is an exciting city. There are a lot of attractions ... As far as me knowing much about the Islanders, I really do not know much about them. What I do know is that (John) Tavares is unbelievable, and they have some good defensemen, who are only getting better.
It was one of those things where being in New York, I really got into it and seeing the guys at the games and talking hockey with my brother-in-law made it an easy decision ... The thing is, the Isles' run was over and I'm not a really big Devils' fan. The Rangers were it. Gretzky played for them and my...
The Islanders need to stay in New York
My real goal is to make sure the Islanders stay in New York honestly. If they end up building a new building here, great. If that winds up not happening, we'd love to have them at the Barclays Center.
How serious is the possibility that the New York Islanders at the end of their lease for the 14-15 season, could in fact move to Barclays Center as their new home?
I’m not concerned about the Rangers or Pittsburgh or the Senators ... I’m concerned about the New York Islanders and the points that are at stake.
