Keep raising the bar, score more runs, take more wickets and, if you are a wicket-keeper, secure more dismissals. It is important to keep raising the bar to become a top player.

Does success breed molestation urges? I love Sony Max for constantly thumbing their noses at the 'Moral Dal' and sexing up the TV coverage. Commentators made to piroutte to Punjabi music is the ultimate in this wacky act. Can you imagine, skimpily-clad... Full Article at Firstpost

Is that a fact? Fantastic… Thank you very much
Why was Sachin not given the Bharat Ratna? He is still playing; he has no intention of retiring. The government could have picked an ex-cricketer like Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev or Sourav Ganguly.
I value my wicket much more now. It is all about setting a good platform and helping the team. Kohli's rise was welcomed by batting great Sunil Gavaskar, who sees him as the kingpin of India's future middle-order in tests without Tendulkar and Laxman. When Kohli and Rohit Sharma were batting together ag...
Till that moment, I was doing well but only to get out in 80s or 90s. Before the start of Kolkata Test someone told me that I should not misfieLd or drop a catch here. Otherwise, 80-90,000 people will be after me. But as things turned out, myself and Sunil Gavaskar shared a 344-run partnership here. I r...

Baba had even predicted that Sunil Gavaskar will score a century in a particular match that he was not even supposed to play and the prediction came true.
He is always focused, he is a perfect team—man. He has got an inquisitive mind, a mind that is prepared to learn. That's how you progress. Tendulkar has got the mind that he always looks to score, never satisfied and always hungry for runs. His approach, focus and concentration is incredible
So many people I have looked up to. GR Viswanath, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev from that era. Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman, Kumble from when I started playing. Also there are so many players from around the world like Steve Waugh, Brian Lara, Vivian Richards, Jacques Kallis etc

It is surprising to see that 96 tickets (Rs 1,500 minimum per ticket) of the Sunil Gavaskar Stand (lower bay) which was meant for public, going unsold. Something is fishy here
We always think, not only in cricket but in different walks of life, it will be difficult to replace somebody. While obviously the style will be very different, there will be younger players coming
I don’t want to be just another Test cricketer. When I retire from the game I want to be spoken of in the same breath as my heroes Sunil Gavaskar and GR Vishwanath
On and off the field, he was a terrific role model to youngsters with his work ethic, the way he carried himself and applied himself
You really won't find anybody playing with the same technical virtuosity that you see with Rahul Dravid
I think you probably might find a big hole in the Indian middle order in the next six to 10 months
When they get through an achievement like a fifty, hundred or a wicket they snarl, snap and swear but when they drop a catch, they smile... It should be the other way round. It's very hard to understand the India team's psyche
The anger, that pent-up frustration from inside...that was missing. I don't think that's the way you want to set an example for young kids watching all the action that whenever you score a hundred, you should be swearing and if you take a wicket you should be abusing. I don't understand it
It's a reward for his performance. It's tad unfair to Gautam Gambhir. Virat has plenty of cricket ahead of him. He is future India captain but he needs to firmly establish himself in the team. In the meanwhile, let him get experience and exposure, so that when he becomes captain, he is ready
If you don't do that, then it would mean that you can lose Test series 4-0, you can lose x number of matches. It does not matter. That's the message sent. If that's the case, we as cricket lovers must be prepared for such results in future as well

That's how it should be. You shouldn't be angry when you have scored a century but be happy
It was nice to see that Virat is now converting those good looking 20's and 30's into brilliant 100. Although it's just one match, it is absolutely magnificent effort to chase down a target in 36.4 overs
