Four years ago we put this seat out on loan to the Tories and now we're back.
The accusation is levelled in new court filings that say the group is more concerned with attacking the Conservatives and raising money than getting to the bottom of the so-called robocalls affair. Conservative party lawyers called the council's... Full Article at The Huffington Post: Canada Edition

The national polls made it a tough night but we held our own. Both of our seats were held and we ran the Tories very close in Barnwood and we almost stormed the Tory citadel of Longlevens.
But just 13% of Canadians strongly support his return while 32% are strongly opposed. "The intensity of opposition is much greater than the intensity of support," Coletto said. "You see the same trend and pattern right across the country." And while... Full Article at Edmonton Sun

Labour thrive on bad day for Tories
We [the Tories] need to work out a strategy, certainly in the west country, for dealing with the issue of traditional voters shuffling off and voting UKIP because they don’t think our leadership is Conservative enough ... The UKIP vote is not just about Europe.
Tories are running the government – we’ll have Labour to run our Town Hall (and vice versa in 2004 and 2008 etc) – it’s only fair!
Labour did very well in London and Ken did significantly less well. A different candidate would almost certainly have done far better. Ken's baggage was significant. Boris enormously outperformed the Tories on a really rotten day for them in the capital.
I think there will come a time when the Tories will have to take Ukip very seriously indeed.
Don't let the Tories get away with it
We’ve been too afraid of the Tories. We assumed Cameron was a Machiavellian figure and a brilliant communicator ... Turns out he’s neither.
The Deputy Prime Minister has negative power - the power to block, as proved by the health bill. What he lacks is its positive equivalent - the ability to turn what he touches into success. To date, differentiation hasn't meant the Tories getting the blame: it's meant him sharing it. Clegg himself is a ...
Winning these three seats, and coming close in another four, is a massive achievement for the Trafford Labour group. It puts us in a good position to challenge the Tories at the next election. I think they will be worried about losing control in 2014.
We are absolutely delighted. People on the doorsteps were rejecting both the Tories and Lib Dems. People were grabbing the leaflets out of my hands.
The Tories flooded Holywells with volunteers today. I think they’ll hang on but we’ve given them a heck of a fright!
Tories recognise that mayoral elections can turn into personality-driven/anti-politics contests, it’s a desperate attempt to undermine Labour in the core cities.
For the Tories to attempt to eat into our vote it will mean Mr Cameron changing its entire manifesto.
If he was to win it would clearly be because of Labour’s popularity and the Tories lack of popularity. At a time when the Conservative’s popularity is so low another candidate certainly would have won.
It is possible Siobhan Benita has nibbled away at Ken’s first preference votes. She has picked up not only some dissident Labour votes but maybe some Tories as well.
It was almost amazing that the Tories managed to not win the 2010 general election but the thought that they would somehow build themselves up to a majority by lurching to the right to try and bring back people they think they've lost to Ukip - in so far as anyone in the Tory Party should take political...
Yes, I don't like the Tories. It's time for a change.
I have joined Labour because they have a strong local team who are standing up against the damage being done by the Tories and Liberal Democrats both nationally and locally. I will continue to fight for what I have always believed in, and for people in my Abbey ward, but I want to be part of a bigger pa...
Early results show we are exceeding expectations – Great Yarmouth, Plymouth, Dudley. We are making real progress in areas where we need to win in 2015 – Harlow, Nuneaton and Bedworth. The big story seems to be a disaster for the Tories who are losing twice as many seats as Lib Dems.
This is a huge result for Labour winning all 24 seats for the first time, but we will not gloat despite the Tories not staying around for the official declarations and saying thank you to our officers. We will continue to fight to make the lives of people of Sandwell better under this Coalition Governme...
We’ll be governed by the Tories for ever!
Of course, we are the underdogs. The Tories were always going to benefit financially, in terms of media backing, and in terms of support from the most powerful. Though it doesn't carry the imprint of the Tory party, London's only daily paper [the Evening Standard] has now become a true blue freesheet.
Today, Londoners can vote Labour to cut their fares and save themselves on average £1,000, and in doing so ensure that the Conservative Party is not rewarded. Every Labour voter must turn out today or the Tories will get away with it - they will carry on with policies that have led to recession, fare ri...
